WINONA, Minn. (FOX 47) -- A Rochester man is still in critical condition at Saint Marys Hospital at after a fight in Winona over the weekend.
Now, new details about the brawl are emerging.
The man was kicked in the head after being knocked to the ground in a melee sparked by disparaging remarks about the Vikings and Packers.
Police are still looking for 50-60 people involved in the brawl.
Police have not released the name of the 21-year-old man but we are learning more about what happened Saturday night.
The man was flown by helicopter to Saint Marys Hospital early Sunday morning.
Neighbors near the corner of Franklin and 9th Street in Winona say they don't live on a quiet street, but noise from Saturday night's fight was enough to get them up and out the door.
"We just thought it was one big party because usually there's a party going on with a lot of alcohol and stuff. But we didn't know. All I heard was someone is getting hurt or shoved or something like that," said neighbor Michelle Pepke.
Witnesses say the brawl started when a large group of people walked by a party on a deck where people were bantering about the Vikings and the Packers.
"There's always people on this porch smoking or whatever, and I assume they were talking about the Vikings and the Packers," said neighbor Braeden Hentz.
Neighbors tell us they saw the fight start on a porch and called 911 after they saw a man lying right on the sidewalk.
Witnesses say they saw the group of people across the street throwing things and people pushing each other into trash cans. The man who was hurt was kicked in the head after being pushed to the ground.
"I saw the individual on the ground and he wasn't moving and it just kept getting louder and louder," said neighbor John Carlson.
Neighbors say a number of fights and parties in the area have made it difficult to live on the block. They heard another fight just a block away earlier the same night.
"It needs to stop. It just needs to stop," said Pepke.
