VP Biden speaks at UWL

LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - - Despite being late by about 45 minutes, Vice-President Joe Biden brought a large crowd to their feet at a speech Friday afternoon at UW-La Crosse.

In his first public appearance since last night's debate, Vice-President Biden continued to draw sharp differences in the policies of Democrats and Republicans.

In the first few minutes, the ran through a laundry list of policies, from troop deployments, tax cuts, and importantly for many here at UW-L, cuts in education by Republicans.

He continued to point out middle class difficulties, stating they lost trillions in home equity and retirement plans while the wealthy hadn't paid their share.

A crowd of approximately 2,000 were in attendance, with an overflow crowd of 300 outside the Valhalla Room in Cartwright Center.

LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - A large crowd is starting to fill the Valhalla Room in Cartwright Center on the UWL campus for a rally with Vice-President Joe Biden.

Biden is making his first public campaign appearance since last night's debate with Rep. Paul Ryan, his Republican challenger.

Several thousand people are expected at the event. 

WXOW will have live streaming coverage of the Vice-President's speech, which is scheduled for approximately 1:45pm.  Our coverage will begin at approximately 1:30pm with anchors Scott Hackworth and Amy DuPont.
