
KRONENWETTER, Wisconsin (WXOW) -- It was a difficult clean up job on the interstate in Marathon County.
More than 50,000 lbs. of cranberries spilled all over I-39 near Kronenwetter south of Wausau.
The police chief in Kronenwetter said the semi driver thought he had a flat tire and when he pulled over, he noticed his trailer was split in half.
The truck had to be towed away.
Marathon County highway workers had to clean up the berries.
A similar incident occured in Wood County near Wisconsin Rapids last week when a trailer split open and also dumped thousands of pounds of cranberries.
