
LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - A man already in jail for several other crimes is named as the suspect in the hold up of a La Crosse motel last month.
La Crosse Police on Thursday says that Anthony Keepers, 27, of Baraboo, is charged with armed robbery, 1st degree recklessly endangering safety while armed, and felon in possession of a firearm.
The Brookstone Inn was held up on September 30th by a lone gunman.
Keepers is currently in the Monroe County Jail on armed robbery charges for a hold up of a gas station in Sparta on October 8th. Following a chase by officers, Keepers crashed his vehicle. Evidence found in the car linked Keepers to the Brookstone Inn robbery.
He is also wanted for several crimes in the Wisconsin Dells area including vehicle theft.
