Westby Creamery receives top honors for three products

Posted:

Westby, Wisconsin (WXOW) - At the recent 2012 Wisconsin Dairy Products Association World Dairy Expo Championship Dairy Products Contest held in Madison, WI, Westby Cooperative Creamery took home three 1st Place Awards.

First Place winning trophies were awarded for Westby brand 2% Low Fat Small Curd Cottage Cheese, Westby brand Regular Sour Cream, and Westby brand French Onion Dairy Dip.

Westby Plant Manager, Reggie Way said, "On behalf of our farmer-member-owners, and employees, we're extremely proud of these first-place awards.  As the only Cottage Cheese manufacturer in the state of Wisconsin, you obviously want to show well in that product category and in your home state.  To be recognized with first place awards in three product categories overall is very gratifying.  It all starts with quality milk from the farms of our patron-member-owners."

Westby Cooperative Creamery will be celebrating 110 years of operations in calendar year 2013.  The cooperative of local family dairy farms has grown to more than 160 members supplying more than 120-million pounds of both conventional and certified-organic milk to their Creamery.  The business manufactures more than 20-million pounds of dairy food products annually, including Cottage Cheeses, Sour Creams, Dairy Dips, Yogurts, Cream Cheeses, Hard Cheeses, Cheese Curds, String Cheeses, and Butter.

The new Distribution Center located just outside downtown Westby, WI, serves Retail Grocery Store customers of Westby brand products, Private Label Manufacturing partners, and Food Ingredient and Food Service customers.
