LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - Local builders are getting into an early holiday spirit to make sure Santa will feel welcome in La Crosse.
Santa's house is getting remodeled for Rotary Lights this year.
Volunteers from the La Crosse Area Builders Association worked all day Friday to secure the foundation and get the roof up.
Volunteers said the 48 by 12 ft home will be equipped with Santa's room, a waiting room and a dressing room.
Once the foundation is up, Western Technical College's wood tech class will put up the trim work and Rotary Lights volunteers will paint the siding.
"The idea is to have this done before Rotary Lights starts which I believe is after Thanksgiving so, we have our work cut out for us to get it done. But, we'll make it. Otherwise Santa will be mad at us and we'll probably get a lump of coal in our stockings," said Jon Olson a volunteer from the La Crosse Area Builders Association.
Santa's House will be at Rotary Lights in Riverside Park starting the day after Thanksgiving until Dec. 31.
