WEST SALEM, Wisconsin (WXOW) - A four-vehicle crash on Highway 16 hospitalizes a La Crosse woman.
It happened just before 10 p.m. Saturday near the entrance of W4704 Highway 16, by the Hidden Trail Corn Maze.
An eastbound vehicle did not give the right of way to a westbound vehicle. The two vehicles collided head-on, according to the La Crosse County Sheriff's Office.
The hospitalized 19-year-old woman was sitting in the passenger seat of the car that was struck.
She was taken to Gundersen Lutheran Hospital for treatment.
The crash caused the vehicles to hit two other cars in the eastbound lane, said the Sheriff's Department.
Police said they cited the driver of one car for failing to yield the right of way while making a left turn.
Police shut down that part of Highway 16 for approximately 90 minutes. The highway re-opened at 11:30 p.m.
The West Salem and Onalaska Police Departments, and West Salem Fire Department and First Responders responded at the scene.
