MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Supporters of a Minnesota constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage are airing a new TV ad that says legalizing gay marriage could expose schoolchildren to teaching about same-sex relationships even if their parents oppose them.
Minnesota for Marriage released the ad Thursday. It says if gay marriage becomes legal in Minnesota that "schools could teach that boys can marry boys."
Amendment opponents say the ad is misleading. They say children learn values at home from parents.
Gay marriage is already illegal in Minnesota, and wouldn't immediately change regardless of the amendment vote.
