LA CROSSE, WISCONSIN (WXOW)-- A good way to warm up on a cool day: the 10th annual LHI Halloween Soup-a-thon at the Waterfront.
Those who attended could choose among 100-kinds of soup. The decade-old event is always held on Halloween, with proceeds benefitting Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.
In addition to the soup cooking contest, judges provided awards for the best costume and pumpkin. News 19's Amy DuPont and Lindsey Hayes served helped out with the judging.
"They really make it a great day for the employees and giving back to the community," said Heather Gilles of the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. "And, they've picked Children's Miracle Network so that 100 percent of the funds stay local and will help kids in our area."
During it's 10 year run, the event has raised more than $70,000.
