Hill family decorates yard for Halloween

LA CROSSE, WI (WXOW)—Trick or treaters were out in full force on Wednesday night; a favorite stop for many was the Hill family home on Johnson Street.

For the last two years, the Hill's have transformed their yard into Halloween central.

"I think the biggest thing is the reaction from the kids," Sue Hill said. "I love to do it and its fun to interact with the kids and take them out and show them all the little doodads and what they do and the noises."

Doodads that all kids loved.

"I like the whole stuff," Zadie, dressed as Pippi Long Stocking said. "I like this and I like that spider and the scare crow. They're scary really, really, scary."

"Is that your favorite?" Hill said.

"That's my costume!" Trick or treater said.

Even if they didn't find their decoration twin, kids still found more than candy to enjoy at the Hill's house.

"That skeleton, the little one and the big one," Averie, dressed as Dracula said.

"(We like them) because they wiggle, one wiggles and one don't," Stormy, dressed as a witch said.

Hill said the kids make the week it took to set up all of these decorations worth it.

"Its a challenge to try topping the next year and see what I could come up with, what's next," Hill said.

A challenge she's ready to take on again next year.

The Hill's said they're going to keep their Halloween decorations up over the weekend then take them down to get ready for Christmas.
