
ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- Local and federal authorities arrested 18 people Thursday morning in an investigation into the distribution of illegal drugs in the Rochester area.
The arrests stem from several months of work by Rochester police, the Southeast Minnesota Narcotics and Gang Task Force and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency. As part of "Operation Heatwave," law enforcement worked to find people believed to be involved in the sale and distribution of marijuana, crack cocaine, heroin, and methamphetamine in Rochester.
Law enforcement carried out arrest warrants at about 6:30 a.m. Thursday. Seventeen people were arrested in the Rochester area and one person was arrested in Eau Claire, Wis. Authorities are seeking two more people.

The 18 people arrested were taken to the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center and are due in court on Friday.
