Evers Loses Race for 94th Assembly Seat

LA CROSSE, WISCONSIN (WXOW)—Republicans gathered at the Days Hotel on French Island to watch election returns.

Bruce Evers, the Republican challenging incumbent Democrat Steve Doyle, spoke shortly after learning he'd been defeated.

"The key is you get out there and you meet real people," Evers said of the campaign. "There are real people in the real world and that's probably the most refreshing thing you do when you do this campaigning process. And, I think they were looking for a lot of different answers to a lot of different questions. And of course they made their choice tonight and I don't have to agree with that choice, but I do appreciate the people that did support me."

Evers added that he's not sure if his run for the 94th Assembly seat will be his last. He says for the moment, he will focus on his business.
