Caledonia Vball ready for big stage

Caledonia, MINNESOTA (WXOW)  Caledonia will get a taste of prep volleyball's main stage.

The Warriors are headed to the MSHSL State Tournament for the first time ever Thursday.

Wednesday, they received a send-off from fans and students.

The Warriors are the number 2 seed in the Class AA bracket.

They've lost just one game in their 4 playoff matches.

After knocking on the door to state the last few season, they finally kicked it down this season.

"These girls are a really connected group. They really trust each other and they really play for each other. That was on display against Kasson-Mantorville. They played a team. The bench was connected. It was a lot of fun watching them," said head coach Scott Koepke.

"Each year that we've lost we've learned something that we've needed to improve. I think this year we focused on our serving and our passing to improve that," said senior Maria Fruechte.

Caledonia will take on Maple Lake at 7pm at the Xcel Energy Center.
