La Crosse, WI (WXOW) - The La Crosse Police Department says extra enforcement is increasing alternate side parking citations.
Alternate side parking went into effect on November 1st.
It requires people to park on the odd side of the street on odd days, and the even side during even days.
Police say so far this year they have written 1,080 tickets.
Last year at this time they wrote 703 citations.
Lt. Pat Hogan says the department has added an extra officer to this years alternate side parking enforcement which is why citations are up.
