Posted:

LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - Students at North Woods International School read with La Crosse Mayor Matt Harter Thursday.  It's all part of an initiative to get students to read.  Mayor Harter is the first of a series of guests to visit the school.

The schools goal is to promote literacy as part of a new project called Local Heroes: Community Leaders, Community Readers.  Logan High School's football and girls' basketball teams are also scheduled to read to the students in the coming weeks.
