WI DNR stresses safety for deer hunt

WAUNAKEE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - Wisconsin's nine day firearm deer hunt begins on November 18, and state officials are stressing safety.

Wisconsin's Department of Natural Resources discussed the upcoming season in Waunakee on Monday.

Officials promoted sighting-in your firearm, checking your tree stand, wearing orange and having a group plan.

And reminded hunters that a part of hunting safety, is knowing your shooting surroundings.
