LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - The Wisconsin gun deer season begins Saturday and hunters could see more active deer.
The Department of Natural Resources says this year's season is a bit early.
So, they say deer are mating, more active and less cautious.
The DNR reports they've sold nearly 376,000 licenses.
That's compared to nearly 403,000 last year at the same time.
But officials say the Friday before the season is traditionally the busiest single day for sales.
