LA CROSSE, WI (WXOW)—The La Crosse County Health Department opened its doors for a holiday food fair on Wednesday.
Everyone who stopped by could sample healthy food options.
They hope those who tried the healthy recipes will take them home for the holidays.
The recipes included kohlrabi mashed potatoes and strawberry mousse with vanilla pudding and reduced fat whipped topping.
"There was an unstuffed pepper casserole," Jennifer Miller, Registered Dietitian, La Crosse County Health Department said. "And you probably wonder how is that for the holidays? But, if you have a lot of pepper strips left over from the holidays, you don't want to spend time stuffing peppers this is a great recipe that you can just chop up all the peppers, throw it in a casserole."
