LA CROSSE, WISCONSIN (WXOW)-- The holiday season is just around the corner and it can be a tough time for some families.
So the Salvation Army set up the annual Angel Tree. It's located at the Valley View Mall and hanging from the tree are gift tags. You can choose one and sponsor the child described on it. The tag includes the size of clothing the child needs and any special Christmas requests.
"Just come out to the mall, a lot of times you'll take a look at these tags, it's not real frivolous things that these kids are asking for," said Susie Rosenau. "They want bedding or pajamas or socks."
There are more than 1200 tags on the Angel Tree this year and more than 500 families signed up. Gifts need to be purchased and returned by December 17.
