Guilty Verdict in Buckles Trial



Viroqua, WI (WXOW)

   A jury has found an Onalaska Man guilty of vehicular homicide in a fatal crash last August in Vernon County that killed his friend.  Buckles had claimed he wasn't driving at the time of the crash.   Sentencing is set for January 2.

Viroqua, WI (WXOW) - The jury has the case of an Onalaska man facing charges in a fatal crash resulting in the death of his friend.

Prosecutors say 29-year-old Robert Buckles was driving drunk, with a blood alcohol level of more than twice the legal limit, when he lost control of his truck in Vernon County.

His friend was thrown from the truck and died at the scene.

The jury trial started on Monday afternoon and by late Thursday morning jurors had the case.
