Township of Lincoln, Wisconsin (WXOW) - The Monroe County Sheriff's Department says three people were injured early Friday morning in a when the truck they were in was hit by a train.
It happened shortly before 3am on Arm Road in the Township of Lincoln just northwest of Warrens.
Railroad employees reported that the pickup truck that was involved in this incident drove through the stop sign at the railroad crossing and tried to beat the train. The train struck the rear passengers side of the pickup truck.
The pickup truck rolled over once on the road.
Officials say the people in the truck fled the scene in another vehicle that was with them but the driver was found a short time later at his home and arrested. Authorities say the driver was 22 year old Tyler Betthauser of Tomah WI.
Officers say Betthauser was arrested as a result of the investigation into the crash.
Officials say two female passengers were also in the truck with Betthauser.
They were located later in Warrens.
The female passengers are 21-year-old Sheridan Tilson and 19-year-old Jessica Kurtz both from Tomah.
Both passengers received minor injuries and sought medical attention on their own.
