La Crosse, WISCONSIN (WXOW) Viterbo volleyball will make history Saturday night when they play in their first-ever NAIA National Tournament match.
They will host Davenport (Mich.) in the first round.
It's been a long time coming for the V-Hawks, who've been on the verge of a national tournament bid, only to lose out in the MCC Tournament.
Last Saturday they knocked off Grand View, the MCC regular season champ.
And now they'll get a taste of playoff volleyball.
"This is absolutely crazy. This is something we've been waiting for all my four years. This is the biggest goal we've ever had. To actually achieve that goal is amazing," said senior Katie Flock.
"I just think this senior class, we knew we had the opportunity to go all the way. We just had that little extra push because the last couple of years we haven't made it this far," said senior Kassie McGettigan.
Viterbo is 12-1 at home this season.
The match begins at 7pm at Beggs Gymnasium.
