Federal officials want hunters to look for marijuana

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WXOW) -- Wisconsin hunters are being asked to look out for marijuana as they head into the woods for the state's nine-day gun deer hunt season.

CNN reports the U.S. Forest Service wants hunters to keep an eye out for growing operations, especially in Wisconsin's Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest.

They ask that hunters call them about any suspicious areas.

Nine marijuana farms have been found on Wisconsin public land since 2008.
