Deer causes 4 car crash

NEAR ZUMBROTA, Minnesota (WXOW)--  Three people were sent to St. Mary's in Rochester after being involved in a four car pile up. Officers say it was caused by a deer.

According to Minnesota State Patrol, the crash happened around 10:30 Saturday night on Highway 52, near Zumbrota.

22-year-old Kelly Kothenbeutel of Zumbrota was driving along highway 52 north when she struck the deer.

Her car was then rear-ended.

As a third vehicle slowed down to avoid the two vehicles, it was rear-ended by a mini-van. The mini-van was driven by a 66-year-old man from Rochester.

The man and his wife were taken to St. Mary's for non-life threatening injuries, as was the driver of the second vehicle.
