MADISON (WKOW) -- The Janesville Fire Department pulled a car and its driver, from the Rock River behind Monterey Stadium Tuesday morning.
Officials say when crews reached the scene, the car was three quarters of the way submerged with the driver still inside. Police assisted the driver to shore by use of a throw rope and rescue bag.
Authorities say a wrecker was called to the scene, and a fire rescue diver hooked the water-logged automobile with a tow line, allowing the car to be pulled from the river.
The driver was taken to Mercy Hospital for evaluation.
