Weight limits put on Highway 16 bridge

LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - Weight limits are now in effect for one of the bridges along Highway 16.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has posted a 40 ton weight limit on the eastbound Highway 16 Medary overpass bridge between County B and Highway 157. It crosses the Canadian Pacific Railroad, La Crosse River and the a bike trail.

Vehicles more than 40 tons must use an alternate route according to the DOT.
