LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - La Crosse's City Council moves to hold the line on any tax increases for residents.
Tuesday afternoon, the council met to reconsider the city budget and whether to increase taxes slightly to meet rising expenses or use money from a reserve fund to offset the increase.
A tax increase would have added roughly two dollars to each tax bill.
Instead, the council voted to take $50,000 from the fund to not raise taxes.
They unanimously approved the city budget 15-0.
WXOW's Pete Zervakis will have more reaction to the vote tonight on our 10pm Report.
