La Crosse FD Responds to Garbage Truck Fire


LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) – The La Crosse Fire Department is investigating what caused a fire at a La Crosse business Saturday.

First responders received the call that a garbage truck was on fire at the Waste Management property at 415 Island St. just before 4:30 p.m.

The truck was engulfed in flames, and located near two other garbage trucks as well as a building.

Firefighters managed to extinguish the blaze before it spread.
