LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - Holiday decorating of christmas trees helps raise money for local charities.
The 26th annual Festival of Trees previews the more than 30 trees decked out for the holiday. The trees are on preview in advance of the Tiny Tim Gala.
Each tree is sponsored by local businesses and decorated in a different theme by volunteers. They are auctioned off at the Gala with the proceeds going to help charities in the La Crosse area such as the St. Claire Health Mission.
Last year's event raised more than $70,000. In all the years combined, the Festival of Trees and Tiny Tim Gala have brought in more than $800,000.
News 19's Heather Armstrong was one of the volunteers who helped create a whimsical 70's themed tree.
