La Crosse, Wisconsin (WXOW) - There have been more than 20 confirmed cases of the flu already this season.
Mayo Clinic Health System Franciscan Skemp says they've confirmed five.
Gundersen Lutheran hospital says they've seen 16 cases which is the most cases they've seen in this short span of time, since 2009.
Plus, the peak season is still to come. Health experts say around Christmas time is when they usually see the biggest increase in flu cases.
To protect yourself from the flu, health experts say get vaccinated.
The people most at risk are children ages 6 months to 19-years old, adults over 50, pregnant women and people with chronic medical conditions.
