Township of Franklin, Wisconsin (WXOW) - A Black River Falls man is killed in an ATV accident in the Township of Franklin.
Jackson County Sheriff's deputies say 54-year-old Marvin D. Waldsmith was killed Friday morning around 6:40.
Officials say Waldsmith was deer hunting on property owned by a friend.
Authorities say he was attempting to climb a hill on his ATV to a nearby deer stand, when the vehicle tipped backward.
Waldsmith's passenger, his younger son, was able to jump away from the ATV as it was overturning, but Waldsmith was pinned underneath.
Officials say it appeared that the weight of the overturned ATV was too much for the victim to continue breathing. After being removed from the woods by rescue personnel, Waldsmith was pronounced deceased by the Jackson County Coroner.
This matter remains under investigation by authorities.
