RUSK COUNTY (WXOW) -- A woman from Ladysmith has been accused of leading police on a high-speed chase with her toddler in the car.
Shelby Heintz has been charged with recklessly endangering the safety of her 16-month-old child.
WQOW, in Eau Claire, reports deputies tried to stop Heintz earlier this month for a traffic violation on Highway 8 in Rusk County. They say she fled at speeds over 100 mph, even driving through a ditch at one point.
Heintz eventually pulled over and deputies found the child crying in the car. They say Heintz had a blood alcohol level nearly twice the legal limit.
