EAU CLAIRE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - WIAC play has arrived for UW-La Crosse basketball. At 5-0 entering Saturday, the Eagle men were flying pretty high entering the conference schedule.

UWL met UW-Eau Claire at Zorn Arena. Luke Tweed led the Eagles scoring attack early on, getting them out to a nine point lead. But Eau Claire battled back with Andy Kliest beating the first half buzzer to take a five point lead at the half.

La Crosse re-took the lead on a Tweed three-pointer. The Junior led all scorers with 23 points. The Eagles shot 56% from beyond the 3-point line and went on to win 84-69. UWL improved to 6-0 with the conference-opening win.

On the flip side, the La Crosse women's hoops team fell to 3-3 on the year. They lost 63-55 to UW-Eau Claire on Saturday afternoon.
