LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW)-- The rain and warm weather is posing a challenge to Mt. La Crosse, which is scheduled to open this weekend.
Right now, aside for a few snowy patches, the slopes are bare. Workers at the ski hill made snow last week, but the majority of it melted.
The general manager says she's hopeful that low temperatures Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning will allow for some snow making.
And, it's not just skiers that are anxious to get out on the snow.
"Not only are our customers excited to get back out here, but we have a lot of employees that are anxious to get back to work," Darcie Breidel, general manager of Mt. La Crosse. "So everyone is just kind of holding off and waiting until the weather turns around."
As of now, Mt. La Crosse does still plan to open this weekend. Log-on to www.mtlacrosse.com for updates on if the hills will be open.
