La Crosse, WISCONSIN (WXOW) It was a homecoming of sorts for La Crosse Loggers infielder Jordan Pacheco Thursday.
He was the guest speaker at the Loggers annual Winter BBQ at the Stoney Creek Inn.
Pacheco is coming off a breakout season with the Colorado Rockies in which he hit .309 and was 5th in the National League in hitting.
Pacheco played for the Loggers in 2005 as a 19-year coming off his freshman season at New Mexico.
His summer with the Loggers was his first taste of what playing every day was all about.
"Being here you get that first experience of what a professional season is like. You play everyday and I was fortunate enough to be in the lineup everyday. You get the bus trips and you go places where there's a lot of fans. They obviously don't want you to win so it was a good experience for me," Pacheco said.
Pacheco played in the infield and some catcher this past season for the Rockies.
