Parts of MN, WI: 8-10" of snow; Less in La Crosse area

LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW/AP) - Residents across parts of Minnesota and Wisconsin are bracing for a snowstorm that could dump as much as 10 inches of snow in some areas with lesser amounts in the La Crosse area.

The National Weather Service says a storm front was moving east from the Dakotas late Saturday. Parts of southeast Minnesota could get 2 to 4 inches overnight, the Twin Cities could see 5 to 7 inches, and areas further north may see 6 to 8 inches.

The system is expected to pass through Minnesota overnight into Wisconsin. The weather service predicts 6 to 10 inches will fall in northwest Wisconsin on Sunday, with 6 to 7 inches in the north-central part of the state.

WXOW Meteorologist Madeline Sky says we can expect anywhere from a half-inch to one inch of snow overnight, with one to four inches possible on Sunday.

The Green Bay area could get about 3 inches, including snowfall during the Green Bay Packers-Detroit Lions game in the evening.
