Madison (WXOW) -- Wisconsin tight ends coach Eddie Faulkner played for Barry Alvarez on the Badgers' Rose Bowl teams of 1999 and 2000.
Faulkner, a running back on those Wisconsin teams, says the message from Alvarez hasn't changed from back in the day.
"It's always about fundamentals and being tough and all those things," says Faulkner, "he could roll over, come out of a coma and come in here and coach and say the same things, and it's going to be principles that this program is built on. I think everybody's bought in to what's going on and he'll do a great job."
While Wisconsin continues preparing for a Rose Bowl meeting with Stanford, this is the week Alvarez said he'd also be talking to potential coaching candidates. Alvarez has already spoken with Jacksonville Jaguars defensive coordinator Mel Tucker, who played for Alvarez at Wisconsin.
Monday, Tucker says about the Badgers head coaching job, there's not an interest on his part at this time.
