Update: Name Released of Tomah Man who Died in House Fire

TOMAH, Wisconsin (WXOW)-- UPDATE: Authorities say the Tomah man who died in a house fire Wednesday night is 50-year-old Raymond Loendorf.

The Monroe County Sheriff's Department and the Oakdale/La Grange Fire Department responded to a fire at around 11:17 p.m. at 25097 Grain Ave. in Tomah.

Officials say Loendorf was found in the basement of his residence.  He was pronounced dead at Tomah Memorial Hospital.

The Oakdale Fire Department says the fire started in the chimney.

Authorities say a Tomah man died in a house fire Wednesday night.

The Monroe County Sheriff's Department and the Oakdale/La Grange Fire Department responded to a fire at around 11:17 p.m. at 25097 Grain Ave. in Tomah.

Authorities say the female who called 911 to report the fire said she could not locate her husband.

Firefighters found the 50-year old man in the basement of the residence.

Although Oakdale First Responders tried to revive the man, he was later pronounced dead at Tomah Memorial Hospital.

Authorities say foul play is not suspected although what started the fire is still under investigation.

No names are being released at this time.
