Adoption Extravaganza finds local dogs, cats homes

LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - If you went to Dahl Subaru Saturday, you found more than just cars to buy. There were also dogs.

The dealership teamed up with the Coulee Region Human Society to host an Adoption Extravaganza Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Staff from the Humane Society said there's overpopulation in the local shelter.

To keep with the car theme, the Human Society dramatically dropped the cost to adopt a cat from $75 to $3.50 – the average price of a gallon of gas.

By the end of the event, 9 out of 12 dogs, and 35 cats found a home.
