Superintendent, Police: No Threat to La Crosse Schools

LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) – The La Crosse School District says rumors of a possible threat against its schools are false.

Superintendent Randy Nelson says the rumors began after a band, un-tastefully named "Guns in School," announced it would be performing in the La Crosse area Friday.

Several high school students saw social media messages relating to guns, school and this Friday, and believed there might be a threat against the La Crosse School District.

Those students brought the matter to the attention of teachers and administrators who, along with police, examined social media and interviewed students.

It was determined there is no threat.

Superintendent Nelson says the school district does not know anything about the band.
