Jackson County board stands by decision about frac sand

BLACK RIVER FALLS, Wisconsin (WQOW)- The Jackson County board is standing by an earlier decision. They've said no thanks to a request about frac sand.

Coulee Frac Sand wants to mine in the town of Franklin.  In August, the county's zoning committee denied a rezoning request by the company.

On Monday night, the full county board followed suit and voted down the request 17 to 2. Board members had concerns about truck traffic and safety.
