Dover-Eyota student facing charges after threatening classmates

DOVER, Minn. (KTTC) -- A Dover-Eyota student is facing charges after threatening to harm and kill classmates.

Sgt. Tom Claymon of the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office says deputies were called to Dover-Eyota high school just after 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

A 17-year-old student allegedly had a "hit list" and verbally threatened two other students, saying he'd "stab them in the eye."

When deputies responded they also found a large folding knife in his pocket.

The incident is still under investigation but the student faces terroristic threat charges.

Sgt. Claymon also says it is adopting a zero tolerance policy when it comes to cases like this.

Claymon says anyone who threatens schools, students or faculty will be charged no matter what.
