LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - With the oncoming storm, snow plows have to be at the ready.
La Crosse County has more than 30 vehicles fueled up and waiting to clear that snow. County plows should hit the roads early tomorrow morning and there are some things you should keep in mind once the snow starts falling.
You can face up to a 200 dollar fine and possibly cause an accident if you throw snow from your driveway into the street. Throw it to the sides to be safe. Also, make sure to stay back from the plows when they are on the roads.
Joe Clements, Patrol Superintendent of La Crosse County said, "With that wind, it depends how wet the snow is. If its a dryer snow there may be a lot of swirling behind that plow. So its like whiteout conditions."
Clements added that you should not travel in these conditions if you don't have to. The roads should be clear by Thursday night or Friday morning.
