LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW)-- For those who had to head to work, Thursday was a cold morning of shoveling, plowing and snow blowing.
But for area students, the conditions were perfect, with enough snow to close schools and coat sledding hills.
"I was really excited because I get to play in the snow all day," said 9-year-old Avery Trohkimoinen.
Although the wind made for dangerous conditions on the road, it just made sledding that much better.
"I like to go fast so I tip over," said 9-year-old Jasmine Siegel.
And it's not just the children who enjoy snow days. Jeff Trohkimoinen finished work at 7 Thursday morning, just in time to join his kids on the hill.
"It's a great time for me," Trohkimoinen said. "I've had a few good runs. It's some special time that we can all spend together and just be outside and have some fun."
While most hope the roads are clear for holiday travel, Jasmine and Avery would prefer to see the snow continue, in hopes of another day off from school.
