LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - La Crosse's City Clerk says there are enough valid signatures to order a recall against Council member Audrey Kader.
City Clerk Teri Lehrke announced late Friday afternoon that she's issued a certificate of sufficiency in regards to the recall.
Kader, who represents the 11th District, had challenged a number of signatures gathered by recall supporters. Her argument was that a number of those who signed the petition did not use a valid address.
On December 14, Lehrke tossed out a number of signatures based on state statutes and guidance from the state's Government Accountability Board. The result was that there were not enough signatures to force the recall.
A local conservative group appealed the decision, which led to the determination that there were enough valid signatures for a recall.
Supporters needed 158 valid signatures to make the recall happen.
There hasn't been a date set for the recall.
