LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - A local holiday gala helps raise nearly $73,000 for local charities in the area.
The money was raised through the 26th annual Tiny Tim Gala, Festival of Trees, and Jingle Bell Brunch. The events were over three days in mid-November in the Waterfront Restaurant.
This years recipients include the St. Clare Health Mission, Boys and Girls Club of Greater La Crosse, YWCA Casa For Kids program, Franciscan Healthcare Auxiliary, and Bluff Country Family Resources.
The events that make up the gala include a dinner, auctions,, music, and of course, a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus.
The Festival of Trees displayed many different themes in 2012 including a Bucky Badger tree, fishing tree, 70's tree, and a fairy tree.
In the past 26 years, the Tiny Tim events have donated $894,000 for local charities.
