LOS ANGELES (WKOW) -- In a 30-minute all-out frenzy called Media Day, the Badger football players answered all kinds of questions.
They got to see the Rose Bowl trophy they're hoping to take home on New Year's Day.
The Badgers also wore their Rose Bowl uniforms; they'll wear white jerseys as the visiting team, but they're hoping to bust out the red pants as an homage to their coach, Barry Alvarez, who's famous for wearing red pants.
Alvarez has said ever since he agreed to coach the Badgers in the Rose Bowl that he didn't want this trip to be about him.
Still, it's a remarkable story.
Alvarez came out of retirement to coach the Badgers for this game only, making him the second acting Rose Bowl Hall of Fame coach to do so.
Alvarez says it's been like a 'big Christmas present' for him to get back on the sidelines for one more game, and this game, especially.
He's a perfect 3-0 at the Rose Bowl and although he comes here year after year, it never gets old.
"I still get chills thinking about it," Alvarez said. There's nothing like taking the field at the Rose Bowl. It's the most beautiful venue in all of sports, I think. I'll be just as thrilled as the first time I took it when I take the field this time."
Wisconsin plays Stanford in the Rose Bowl on Jan. 1.
