LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - The Children's Museum of La Crosse welcomed 2013 a little early Saturday.
It was part of "Countdown to Noon."
Visitors made noise makers, party hats, and got their face painted.
The celebration lead up to 12 p.m. where kids stomped on bubble wrap and released balloons into the air to welcome the new year.
Staff said it was a way for kids to celebrate the New Year with their families.
"The importance is to bring back family," said Christina Knudsen, project director of the Children's Museum. "It's a time to also be thankful for your family and look ahead into the new year and make some resolutions together."
