Two arrested in Vernon County burglaries


VIROQUA, Wisconsin (WXOW) - Two people are in arrested in connection with burglaries in Readstown in Vernon County.

Sheriff John Spears says in a news release that 17-year-old Mark Allen Walter of Soldiers Grove, and 21-year-old Rick Allen Carter of Richland Center were arrested for the burglaries which happened February through April, 2012.

Spears says investigators recently got information on the burglaries to the Lil Deadwood Saloon, Crazy Franks, and pop machines in the Village of Readstown that led to the arrests of Walter and Carter.

Walter is jailed on a burglary charge and a probation hold following a Dec. 27 court appearance.  Carter appeared the next day for a bond hearing.
