ONALASKA, Wisconsin (WXOW)-- A grand welcome home tonight for the Onalaska High School bands after the groups success at the Outback Bowl.
The marching band is the grand champion of the New Year's Eve parade. They competed against 18 other bands for that honor. The color guard, dance team and baton squad earned best band front in that parade.
The concert band also won a grand championship. The jazz band and orchestra finished first in their divisions, and the percussion ensemble and field show took second place honors.
"We hoped we'd win all those trophies but being at the awards ceremony I think we were all really surprised when they kept calling our name up for first and second place trophies," said Emilee Bergman, a junior drum major.
And one senior says it was the perfect way to end the year.
"It was definitely an amazing way to end the season," said Riley Mason, a drum major. "It was an amazing season to begin with but this was definitely the icing on the cake."
